Today 16.06.2020, We have flagged off distribution of 27 million Nets to different districts together with the Ministry of Health (MOH) . This funding commitment from the Global Fund continues our support for Malaria control progress in Uganda.
“For the first time Global Fund & partners are entirely using government systems to implement a programme of this nature. We are grateful for the confidence developed & pledge optimal performance” Noted Dr. Diana Atwine, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health.
The first consignment will go to 25 districts and will be delivered by National Medical Stores. The 25 districts were selected depending on the disease burden. The mass distribution will start with districts that were affected by flooding in the Eastern region and those, most especially in Northern Uganda, that have recorded higher cases of malaria. This will take all the remaining months of this calendar year.
